The idea is simple and delightful: you carry a Wyoming Book Crawl passport, a bingo-style card with a square for every participating shop, and collect a stamp or sticker at each one you visit. Every stop is a chance to meet a local bookseller, browse shelves you would never find at a chain store, and see a different corner of the state.

The wrapping paper at the bottom of the book stack contains the leavings from my “Blind Date with a Book” purchase from Bookin’ It in Casper. The stacks: some planned, most impulse buys:
- A healthy dose of Matt Dinniman’s Dungeon Crawler Carl series (you know some people think this series is prophetic).
- The Lost Library and The Heir Apparent.
- Gene Wolfe, Kate Mosse’s Labyrinth, and a Stephen King pair: The Shining and Storm of the Century.
- Lisa Jewell’s It Could Have Been Her and T. Kingfisher’s A House with Good Bones.
- The new Lucy Foley, Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for good measure.
- Kathleen Rooney’s new release, Man Overboard!
- Anna James’s Alice with a Why.
Why You Should Do It
A book crawl turns shopping into a treasure hunt. You support independent businesses, meet people who genuinely love books, and see parts of Wyoming you might otherwise drive right past. Plus, a stamped passport makes a better souvenir than anything off a gift shop rack!
